Guided Snowshoe

      Enjoy a fresh winter day in the Cypress Hills on snowshoes!  A guide will select an appropriate trail for your group and bring all the snowshoes.  Suitable for all ages and/or part of a winter activity day at the Learning Center.  Consider in addition to your Hidden Valley ski trip for those who want to come to Elkwater but do not wish to downhill ski!

      Pending the age and desired outcomes of the group, this program could include:

      • A memory scavenger hunt for winter icons
      • Observation of animal tracks, trail signs, and winter species identification
      • Investigation of wildlife and plant adaptations for winter survival
      • Discussion of ecosystem and population dynamics in winter
      • Winter recreation, equipment and safety
