Features

This hut is a wonderful home base for exploring Cypress Hills. Visit the Horseshoe Canyon viewpoint and experience the vastness of the surrounding prairies. Check out Head of the Mountain viewpoint, the highest point in the park, to experience stargazing at its best. The hut is close to a wide variety of hiking trails, and in winter the Spring Creek cross country trail system provides 10km of groomed trails for classic and skate skiing.

In the summer and fall this hut is accessible by car, or you can choose to hike in using the trails and roadways. During the spring and winter access is limited to ski or snowshoe only.

This hut can accommodate 6 people with an open concept of no separate rooms.  There is no lighting or electrical outlets, but there is a cozy wood stove for heating.  It is located approx. 6km south of Elkwater town site.
