Spring Creek Cross-Country Ski and Equestrian Trail System

Ice Safety: Alberta Parks does not monitor ice conditions; learn how to assess them for yourself.

This system of trails offers excellent variety for the novice skier. There are warm-up shelters at Willow Creek group use area and at the trailhead. The trail system is accessible via Murray Hill Road (1 km west of Hwy. 41 about 7 km south of Elkwater Lake.

The Spring Creek Trails were groomed and trackset Feb.7.  Conditions are good.

 

Please report any downed trees or other hazards to the Visitor Centre at (403) 893-3833 ext 5.

Please be advised that the section of Murray Hill Road from the Spring Creek Trailhead to the Golf Course Road will  not be available for Cross Country Skiing for the remainder of the 2024/2025 season.  The road will be plowed regularly to allow access for crews that are conducting tree removal work to the south of the Elkwater townsite.

The Murray Hill Road west of the Golf Course Road will continue to be groomed for Cross Country Skiing.  A temporary ski access to the Murray Hill Road will be groomed to the west off of the Golf Course Road approximately 100 metres south of the Murray Hill Road.
