Cast from the Past

Join us in the palaeontology lab in the Visitor Centre at Dinosaur Provincial Park to create an authentic fossil cast that will be yours to keep!

Can you identify which fossil you have replicated and what it tells palaeontologists about life in ancient Alberta?

Surrounded by the real tools of the trade, you will learn hands-on how casts are made, and you will discover how casts are used by palaeontologists and museums around the world to expand our shared knowledge of ancient life.

The casting portion takes place on a shady back porch, followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of the Paleo-Lab in the museums Field Station.

This indoor program can be modified to be wheelchair accessible upon request.
