Cast from the Past

Ice Safety: Alberta Parks does not monitor ice conditions; learn how to assess them for yourself.

Join us for a fantastic family experience! During hands-on indoor workshop, you will create your own authentic fossil cast to take home as a souvenir. Will you be able to identify which Dinosaur Park fossil you have replicated?  Can you guess what marvellous ancient creature it came from?

What you'll experience:

  • Hands-on Casting: Learn palaeontological casting techniques and create a fossil replica of your own.
  • Behind-the-Scenes Tour: Explore the fascinating Palaeontology Lab and discover how scientists study ancient life.
  • Fun for all ages: This engaging program is a wonderful opportunity to learn and create together.

Important Notes:

  • Accessibility: This indoor program can be modified to be wheelchair accessible upon request.
  • Admission: Entry to the Visitor Centre is included in your program fee.
  • Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
