Experience the thrill of discovery as you hike to and explore a dense fossil site, guided by an experienced Interpreter. Learn to identify fossils in the field and gain a firsthand appreciation for the incredible diversity of life that thrived in this ancient ecosystem millions of years ago.

This is a unique opportunity for adult palaeontology enthusiasts to:

  • Develop your own fossil spotting and identification skills.
  • Explore rugged terrain and uncover hidden gems.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of palaeontological field techniques.
  • Experience the excitement of exploring a world-renowned fossil site.

Important Notes:

  • This hike is designed for adults. For a family-friendly experience, please try Fossil Safari.
  • Accessibility: This program is not suitable for those with mobility limitations. Participants must be able to hike up to 5 km over very difficult terrain.
  • Weather Conditions: Cancellations may occur due to extreme weather events, including extreme heat and rain.
  • Footwear: Closed-toe and closed-heel sturdy walking shoes are required for this tour. (No sandals, flip-flops, or Crocs.)
  • Hydration: Participants are required to bring at least 2 litres of water/person.
  • To preserve the integrity of our fossil sites, digging is not allowed on tours, but you will have the chance to touch fossils discovered in the field.
