Fossil Finders Hike

Program dates will be added soon. Please keep checking back.

Hunting fossils: not just for kids!

Every year, exciting new fossils erode out of the rocks at Dinosaur Provincial Park and offer an extraordinary window into the ecosystems of the past.

Join an expedition through rugged terrain of the badlands to a dense fossil site, where you will learn to identify fossils in the field and appreciate firsthand the huge diversity of Cretaceous life.

To protect our fossil resources, we do not allow digging on tours, but you will have the opportunity to handle real fossils in the field. Fossil Finders is geared for adults. If you are seeking a family-friendly experience, try our Fossil Safari program.

This program is not wheelchair or stroller accessible.

Cancellations may occur due to extreme weather events, including extreme heat and rain.

Please note: Closed toe and heel walking or hiking shoes are required for this tour. (No Keen sandals, sandals, flip-flops or Crocs).
