    From the comfort and safety of the park bus, experience the stunning views and harsh environment of the largest badlands in Canada.

    You are on and off the bus a few times as your park guide shows you the interesting land formations and fossils including an "in-situ" hadrosaur (in the rock that it was found).

    Hunting fossils is not just for kids! Come and explore the badlands with an experienced interpreter. Seek out 75 million-year old fossils and snap brag-worthy photos as we hike to an out-of-the-way spot in the natural preserve. Learn some tricks of the fossil prospecting trade, and have an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of palaeontology. In order to protect our fossil resource we do not allow digging on tours, but you will learn how to recognize surface fossils and have the opportunity to handle real fossils. If you are looking for a family-friendly experience try our Fossil Safari program as Fossil Finders is geared for adults.

    This adventure is your opportunity to experience the exceptional concentration of fossils that make Dinosaur Provincial Park world-famous.

    With a knowledgeable guide, you will trek over sandy terrain, over hoo-doo passes, and through grassy valleys to a former dig site (known as a bonebed) that contains the remains of hundreds of horned dinosaurs!

    This is a new trail to the Bonebed for those who enjoy a good hike! As you investigate the clues in the landscape, you will discover the ideas about why so many dinosaurs are preserved at this one unique site.

    This program is not wheelchair or stroller accessible.

    Due to content and 4 kms hike distance over rough terrain - this program is recommended for ages 10 and up.

    Join us in the palaeontology lab in the Visitor Centre at Dinosaur Provincial Park and create an authentic fossil cast that will be yours to keep! Surrounded by the real tools of the trade, you will learn about the scientific work that takes a fossil from a simple curiosity to a piece of scientific evidence.

    You will discover how the very fossil you have replicated may have helped change our view of dinosaurs, brought new understanding about ancient environments, or even told the story of its own death.

    The casting portion takes place on a shady back porch, followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of the Paleo-Lab in the museums Field Station.
