Operational Service Change - Winter Camping - Payne Lake Loop A

    Effective Date: October 9, 2025

    Where: Payne Lake Campground

    Details: Winter camping is now in affect at Payne Lake. 
    • Camping Loop A is open for winter camping. 
    • Camping Loop B is now closed for the season. 
    Campsites are by First Come, First Serve, with Self Registration in effect. 

Welcome to Payne Lake Provincial Recreation Area!

This lakeside campground is 25 km west of Cardston on Hwy. 5 (18 km east of Waterton Lakes National Park on Hwy. 5). Choose from scenic lakeview sites or the shade and privacy of natural mixed forest. Fish for trout, hike, sail, canoe, or enjoy the views of the mountains while relaxing in your campsite.
