Police Outpost Day Use

Police Outpost Day Use Area offers a peaceful area to enjoy a picnic on the west side of the lake. Walk along the Outpost Lake trail to the boardwalk and meander along the lake shore around the island. Head the opposite way to find picturesque views of the lake and birdwatching benches as you follow the path to the south shores of the lake.

A second day use area boasts a large parking lot for larger vehicles or those pulling trailers. There are minimal picnic sites in this area, but you can follow the lake trail back to the main day use area for a more sheltered table among the trees.

During winter, the day use areas remains open for foot traffic only. Continue to explore the park by snowshoe or cross-country ski and feel a completely new type of peace and serenity among the blanket of snow.
