The McMullen Day Use Area is a nice place to pull off the road or take a break from the trail for some shade under the cottonwood trees. You will find a few picnic tables, interpretive signage, and vault toilets.
The Park is accessible from both Hwy 838, 5km west of Drumheller, or via the River Park Trail System, a paved trail which connects the town to the Royal Tyrell Museum.
Although there is no direct access to the Red Deer River, the trail system does take you down to enjoy beautiful views of the valley and a fresh breeze off the water.
