  • Bear Warning - Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park Trails

    Effective:  June 29, 2021

      • Effective Date: June 29, 2021
      • Where: Entirety of Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park and all trails within.
      • Why: A black bear has been sighted in and around Tiger Lily Loop and surrounding areas.

       

    Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered anywhere in the Kananaskis Region at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

    • Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
    • Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
    • Keep your pet on a leash.
    • Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible, and know how to use bear spray.
    • Learn more about bear safety on our webpage or at WildSmart.

    Please report all bear sightings immediately to 403-591-7755.

  • Construction Advisory - Glenbow Ranch Boat Launch

    Effective:  June 21, 2021

      • Effective Date: June 21 and 22, 2021
      • Where: Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park west end pond dock 
      • Why: Repair of the boat launch

      All trails will remain accessible during this time.

      Heavy equipment and crews will be on site completing construction work. Caution should be used, particularly around heavy equipment, and all posted signage and closures must be obeyed.  

       

  • Closure - Bearspaw Trail

    Effective:  June 16, 2021

      • Effective date: June 16, 2021, until further notice
      • Where: Bearspaw Trail, Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park
      • Why: Presence of cattle and their calves

  • Parking Prohibited on Glenbow Road

    Effective:  March 18, 2021

      • Effective Date: March 18, 2021
      • Where: Glenbow Road, Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park
      • Why: Parking prohibited on Glenbow Road.

      Parking along Glenbow Road is now prohibited. Limited parking to access Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park is available in designated lots. Please obey all signs.

      Visitors should be prepared and have an alternate plan or avoid peak hours between 1:00pm and 3:00pm on weekends.

       

  • Construction Advisory - Glenbow Ranch PP Hazardous Tree Removal

    Effective:  February 1, 2021

      • Effective Date: February 1, 2021
      • Where: Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park parking lots and around the Visitor Centre / Parks Offices. 
      • Why: Hazardous Tree Removal by contractors at Glenbow Ranch.

       The areas will remain open to the public during work.  Visitors should follow all signage and directions from the contractors.

       

       

  • Construction Advisory - Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park Education Facility

    Effective:  August 19, 2020

      • Effective Date: August 19, 2020
      • Where: Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park public parking lot and main trail
      • Why: Educational Facility will begin construction on August 19, 2020.

      Heavy equipment and crews will be on site completing construction work. Caution should be used, particularly around heavy equipment, and all posted signage and closures must be obeyed.
