  • Bear Warning - Bears In Area

    Effective:  June 14, 2025

      Be advised that there have been multiple sightings and of bears through out the Campground, Day Use,  and Trails. 

      The bears are not leaving the area and we ask that you ensure all wildlife attractants are stored properly and not left out. 

      Park Users are reminded:

      • Remain alert.
      • Make noise when hiking on trails and hike in groups. 
      • Keep your ears open. Do not wear headphones or earbuds while on trails.
      • Travel in groups and during daylight whenever possible. 
      • Report sightings and incidents to Conservation Officers through 310-LAND(5263).

    Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered anywhere in the South Region at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

    • Keep all attractants secure from bears including food, garbage, recycling, pet food and any other scented item. Never leave these items unattended.
    • Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
    • Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
    • Keep your pet on a leash.
    • Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible, and know how to use bear spray.
