Details: Starting December 1st, 2025 access to Black Mountain Staging Area and the Snow Creek Provincial Recreation Day Use Area Parking Lot will be closed during timber harvest operations. All Trails will be closed for access. Access to the Group Use Area shelter and washrooms will still be available.Map of Affected Area
The Snow Creek Group site is located just a few kilometers off of highway 11 in a very private setting with a wonderful view of the Rocky Mountains on the way there. The flowing creek along the 2 sides of the campground is available for you to cool off or keep drinks cold. The rustic shelter has built-in tables and benches perfect for eating or game playing while enjoying the warmth of the wood stove. Hiking trails are available along highway 11 in many spots, as well as the Bighorn Dam/Abraham Lake, a man-made reservoir, great for fishing.
