Details:

Wabamun Lake Provincial Park is located near the hamlet of Wabamun and west of Edmonton. It has 276 treed campsites, with unserviced and power sites. There are also 3 group camping areas and 3 group day-use rentable picnic shelters. You will find trails for hiking and biking, a large beach and waterfront for swimming, boating, and sailing, playgrounds, Park Store, Beach Concession, and boat rentals.

3 km east & 1 km south of Wabamun off Hwy. 16A; approximately 60 km from Edmonton & 355 km from Calgary

Birding: Power plants in the area provide year-round open water for hooded mergansers, bald eagles and mallards, as well as various migrating, breeding and moulting water birds including gulls, terns, rails, herons, loons, kingfishers and sandpipers. Ospreys nest at both Wabamun and nearby Lake Isle. There are nesting colonies of red-necked and western grebes. The area also supports species such as common ravens, gray jays and great gray owls, which are normally found further north and west.
Hiking: The day use area has boardwalks.
