• Why: Washrooms closed until further notice due to a suspected water main break. Portable toilets will be on site during the closure.

• Effective Date: November 5 until December 9, or 2024 until further notice. 
• Where: Glennfield Day Use Area.
• Why: Contractor will be operating small equipment to perform ground excavation to locate and repair a broken waterline.

Park users MUST obey all construction signs and barricades put in place to secure this construction site.  A detour will be available during this construction period.

• Effective Date: August 8, 2024, until further notice.
• Where: Bebo Grove, Bankside, and Marshall Springs Day Use sites.
• Why: Various washroom facilities throughout Fish Creek Provincial Park have been identified for replacement. The new facilities are set to prioritize safety, security, operations, maintenance, accessibility, inclusivity.
  
  The existing washrooms at Bebo Grove Day Use Site and Bankside Day Use Site will be replaced with plumbed washroom facilities. Marshall Springs Day Use Site will receive a new vault toilet facility.
  
  To support construction activities, short term delays and temporary closures are expected from August 2024 through Winter 2024. We recognize delays are inconvenient, however, they are necessary to ensure public safety and support construction efficiency. Please follow all signage and do not cross construction barriers.
  
  Facilities and services in Fish Creek Provincial Park will not be impacted. Visitors looking for trail alternatives can call the Alberta Forestry and Parks Information Line at (877) 537-2757 or stop by the Bow Valley Ranch Visitor Centre.

• Where: Mallard Point Day Use Area up to and including, the Bow Bottom Trail SE pedestrian crossing
• Why:

A Trails Master Plan for Fish Creek Provincial Park was completed in 2022 and proposes a multi-use trail network accommodating a wide variety of users. The key objective is to expand on existing opportunities in the park in a manner that is safe, enjoyable, sustainable, and environmentally conscious. The highest priority is the Central Corridor Pathway – a 19 km pathway artery, running through the heart of the park and connecting day use areas to key points of interest. Portions of the Central Corridor Pathway are also segments of the Rotary-Mattamy Greenway and the Trans Canada Trail.

The Government of Alberta is proceeding with Phase 1 construction of the Central Corridor Pathway in August 2024. This includes the eastern segment of the pathway, between the Mallard Point Day Use Area up to and including, the Bow Bottom Trail SE pedestrian crossing. To improve public safety, Phase 1 will also include the following special projects:

• • Special Project 1 – Realignment of a small pathway segment away from the eroding shoreline of Fish Creek
  • Special Project 2 – Removal of a staircase and a new trail alignment near the community of Evergreen Estates
  • Special Project 3 – Mitigation to a small pathway segment in Marshall Springs to address drainage challenges

To support construction activities, short term delays are expected along the eastern segment of the Central Corridor Pathway from August 2024 through late fall, with minor works in 2025.
