The Aylmer Group site is located along the banks of the North Saskatchewan River making it an ideal spot to use as a starting point to canoe/kayak towards Saunders, Horburg or Rocky Mtn. House. This site is perfect for fishing as well with the river on your doorstep.

Aylmer Provincial Recreation Area is accessible by both road and river. It's often used as a staging area for hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trails in the area. Canoeing / kayaking: Aylmer provides convenient canoe, kayak and river boat access to the North Saskatchewan River. The boat launch is located across the road from the Group Camping Area. The canoe trip from Aylmer to Rocky Mountain House takes approximately 12 hours. Hiking: Hikers can either head west to Bighorn Dam or east to Saunders boat launch. Horseback riding: There are informal equestrian trails in the vicinity.
