Details:All visitors are advised that the gravel access road leading to Horburg Campground and the North Saskatchewan River is in poor condition due to erosion, deep ruts, and standing water.
Travel on this road requires a high-clearance, four-wheel-drive vehicle.
Please use caution when driving, and consider alternate plans if your vehicle is not suitable for rough terrain.
Horburg Provincial Recreation Area offers a rustic, first come, first served camping experience, ideal for those seeking proximity to the North Saskatchewan River.
Most campsites are walk-in tenting, providing a quiet, immersive experience. A limited number of sites offer drive-in access suitable for smaller RVs. Since many campsites are situated close to the riverbank, visitors enjoy the relaxing sound of the North Saskatchewan River's flow throughout their stay.
The campground also serves as a convenient overnight stopover for multi-day river adventurers who have put their canoes or kayaks in the water upriver at Saunders or Aylmer Provincial Recreation Areas.
