The Cardinal Divide Day Use Area is one of a only a few places in Alberta where visitors can drive and park in an alpine setting. A four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. A sea of wildflowers will greet you in July, remember to follow established trails to avoid damaging sensitive alpine plants. The Cardinal Divide East Trail and Cardinal Divide West Trail start here, providing stunning mountain views. Take binoculars and be on the lookout for marmots and grizzly bears in the alpine.

The area is not accessible in winter due to deep snow.
