Effective Date: May 26, 2025 - Until Further Notice
Where: English Bay Campground , English Bay PRA , Information & Facilities
Details: Due to the shallow lakebed and prevailing winds constantly pushing sand onto shore, the boat launch at English Bay Provincial Recreation Area may temporarily not be suitable for bigger boats, e.g. wake or surf type. Larger motor boats can be launched at the Cold Lake Provincial Park boat Launch, or the City of Cold Lake marina.
This small provincial recreation area along the western shore of Cold Lake has a campground with 15 and 30 amp powered sites. Cold Lake is a large lake on Alberta’s eastern border, and a popular spot for lake activities. Bird watchers will find this a great location for songbirds such as the wood warbler, flycatcher and thrush in the treetops, as well as waterfowl along the shoreline.
