Officially named Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Grazing, Wildlife and Provincial Recreation Area, this park supports a variety of outdoor recreation activities, as well as grazing and Indigenous and seasonal hunting.

 

 


Web of Life

From buzzing insects to soaring hawks, every living thing plays a role in nature’s incredible web of life. In this interactive program, students will discover how plants and animals are connected through food chains and survival strategies. Whether herbivore, carnivore, or omnivore, each creature depends on others and the environment for survival.

Through exploration, role-play, and real-world discovery, students will gain a deeper understanding of ecosystems and the web of life.

Students will:

  • Catch and identify small invertebrates to explore their role in the food chain
  • Play predator-prey games to understand survival strategies and ecological balance
  • Match various animals to their role in the food chain.
  • Investigate how plants and animals adapt to thrive in their habitats
