Notes

    • Walkers are best to avoid the Waskwhegan staging area in winter. Walkers can enjoy many kilometers of trails starting from the Central, Blackfoot and Islet Lake staging areas.
    • Blackfoot Lake staging area is only 25 minutes east of Edmonton off HWY 16, just after the Ukrainian heritage village
    • Check out the trail report here to see what activities can be done on which trail in winter.
    • You can walk on any trail that doesn’t have two sets of ski tracks set on it! These tracks take a long time to get right, and staff work long hours to ensure the tracks are of high quality.
    • Skiers only have access have to these trails for a few months of the year, so please share the trails.
    • There is no potable water available at this site. Please bring your own.
