Embark on a thrilling guided hike through the rugged badlands of Dinosaur Provincial Park. Journey by bus deep into the Palaeontological Preserve and trek to a renowned excavation site where the skeletons of hundreds of horned dinosaurs were discovered. This fast-paced adventure combines exhilarating outdoor exploration with the excitement of scientific discovery.
What you'll experience:
- Travel by bus into the heart of the badlands.
- Hike to a unique excavation site.
- See fossils eroding out of the ground at your feet.
- Learn what fossil skeletons can reveal about how dinosaurs lived, died and were preserved.
Important Notes:
- Difficulty: This hike is moderate difficulty.
- Children: Children ages 10 and up only. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
- Accessibility: This program is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers.
- Weather Conditions: Cancellations may occur due to extreme weather events, including extreme heat and rain.
- Footwear: Closed-toe and closed-heel sturdy walking shoes are required for this tour. (No sandals, flip-flops, or Crocs.)
- Hydration: Participants are required to bring at least 1 litre of water/person.
- To preserve the integrity of our fossil sites, digging is not allowed on tours, but you will have the chance to touch fossils discovered in the field.
