This scenic backcountry equestrian campground is found in Bow Valley Provincial Park on the northwest shore of Barrier Lake. The closest access is at the Barrier Dam Day Use Area, 30 km east of Canmore on Hwy. 1 and 12 km south on Hwy. 40. It is 3.9 km km from the trailhead and is rated easy. It can also be reached by boat. Here there are tent pads, hitching rails, corrals, pit/vault toilets, secure food storage lockers and firewood provided. Secondary access via Quaite Creek Trail/ Jewell Pass Trail from Heart Creek Day Use Area is 9.4 km and 340 m of elevation.
