This steep trail leads to a fragile alpine meadow and a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Stay on the trail to protect the environment. The trailhead at Highwood Meadows Day Use area is near the top of the highest paved pass in Canada and you follow Highwood Meadows Interpretive Trail prior to crossing Highway 40 to begin the ascent.
