This towering peak is the highest mountain in the Crowsnest Range. The trail winds through the forest beside Ptolemy creek with several creek crossings. The trail eventually leaves the creek bed and begins a gradual ascent. At the fork, take the trail to the right.
A long, straight stretch terminates in an old parking area. An orange hiker sign marks the beginning of a single-track ascent up to a wide, rocky plateau. This is a popular staging area for climbers and cavers.
Trailhead instructions:
Warning: In spring and early summer, the creek crossing through the swift and deep water can pose a serious hazard.
